Interview with a Success Story: Arnau Grabolosa

Arnau Grabolosa is a graduate of the Advanced Music and Sound Diploma at EUMES and a rising talent in the music scene.

During his time at EUMES, Arnau was nominated for the Enderrock Awards in two separate projects: with the band Sabana as Best New Artist and with the Black Music Big Band for Best Jazz Album in 2021. He is also the founder of Festival Mússol, a charitable initiative that raises funds for childhood cancer research.

Arnau emphasizes that EUMES provided him with a solid technical and professional foundation, allowing him to explore and develop his musical creativity. His education enabled him to collaborate with various artists and participate in significant projects within the Catalan music scene.

For those interested in the music industry, Arnau recommends making the most of the learning and collaboration opportunities, as he believes the blend of theory and practice is essential for building a successful career in music.

Tell us about yourself

My name is Arnau, I’m 20 years old, from Santa Pau in La Garrotxa, and I’m currently studying at EUMES.

What musical projects are you working on?

I’m involved in several projects as a musician. I’m part of a couple of bands right now with Júlia Blum and Agnès Algueró, both signed with record labels Picap and U98 Music.

I’m also managing the Festival Mussol, which raises funds for childhood cancer. This festival has featured many artists like Amaia, Núria Graham, Sr. Chen, and many more. Additionally, I’m the manager of Sabana, a music group from Granollers.

Currently, I’m launching my own artistic project, which really took off in late 2021 and into 2022. It combines jazz with electronic music and is different from anything I’ve done before because it’s my own project, where I want to express myself as a musician.
