Eduard Gener began his musical journey as a member of projects like Despertadors Atòmics, but he launched his solo career in 2015 with the album Les Avingudes. His approach is truly unique: soul music sung in Catalan — an uncommon but distinctive style.
In 2017, he gained recognition with his second album Diumenge, earning the title of “Catalonia’s soulman” and solidifying his sonic identity with influences from jazz, blues, and swing.
With five releases to his name by 2022, Eduard has shown a steady evolution, collaborating with labels such as RGB Suports, Casafont Records, and Jezz. His latest work, Swing de comarques (2022), pays tribute to self-taught rural musicians, blending swing with traditional melodies.
Based in Solsona, Eduard has performed at clubs like Harlem Jazz Club and Jamboree in Barcelona, following in the footsteps of 1950s regional musicians. He stands out as a “Catalan soulman” thanks to his ability to reinterpret American styles through his own cultural lens.
He represents the power of transformation through local roots and musical innovation. As an EUMES alumni, he is a role model for those who seek to combine technical skill, personal identity, and professional growth. His journey is a testament to passion and persistence, with a distinct style and cultural authenticity.
