Higher Degrees in Music

To access the qualification, you must meet two requirements:

1. Hold the required academic qualification for admission (or obtain it before completing enrollment).
2. Pass a specific examination that assesses the musical aptitudes and competencies of applicants.

At EUMES, we follow the regulations established by Resolution EDU/2054/2021 of June 29, 2021, and Resolution EDU/78/2022 of January 20, 2022, which regulate the specific admission examinations for higher artistic education adapted to the European Higher Education Area.

Each academic year, the Administration publishes an updated version of these regulations, which explains in detail the structure and content of the entrance examinations for higher music studies. Within this general framework, the institution may define, according to its pedagogical and organizational autonomy, aspects such as the level of difficulty of analysis exercises or the musical styles considered most relevant.

How to certify the academic requirement

It is considered that the academic admission requirement is met when at least one of the following qualifications or certifications is held:

• Higher vocational training qualification (Advanced Level Training Cycle).
• Passing the university entrance examination for applicants over 25 years of age.
• Bachillerato diploma under the LOGSE or LOE systems.
• BUP + COU diploma under the 1970 education plan.
• Any university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent).
• Any higher music qualification (Plan 66 and LOGSE) or the professional music diploma under Plan 42.

Applicants without the academic requirement

If you do not yet meet the academic requirement and you are 18 years old or turn 18 during the calendar year in which the call is held, you may apply to take a specific examination for applicants without the academic requirement, organized by the Department of Education.

Applicants with foreign secondary education

If you completed upper secondary education (Bachillerato) in another country, you must apply for the official recognition (homologation) of your qualification in Spain. This process is carried out through the Education and Science Office of the Spanish Embassy or the corresponding Spanish Consulate.

Applicants with specific educational needs

Applicants with officially recognized physical, psychological, sensory disabilities, or severe disorders may request adaptations and additional resources to take the entrance examination under equitable conditions.

This request must be addressed to the Directorate General for Family and Educational Community Support of the Department of Education.
