Joan Casulleras, known by his stage name K-ZU, has become the trendiest DJ in Catalonia thanks to his remixes of Catalan music. In 2022, he completed his music production studies at Eumes (Girona), marking the beginning of his professional career as a DJ. He quickly established himself as a resident DJ at some of Catalonia’s most iconic venues (Sala Apolo in Barcelona, Ultraclub Millennium and La Mirona in Girona, or La Cabra in Vic).
Since early 2024, he has become a social media phenomenon with his remixes of traditional Catalan music and mashups of songs by Catalan bands with reggaeton and pop. His videos remixing iconic songs like El meu avi va anar a Cuba or la Polca d’Ours, turning them into upbeat electronic party anthems, have gained millions of views on social media, making him the most-followed Catalan DJ on Instagram.
He has also collaborated with several top-tier Catalan artists, creating official remixes for tracks like Hem vingut a jugar by Buhos or Aeròbic by Doctor Prats.
K-ZU has performed throughout the Catalonia, including major festivals like Cabró Rock, with a show that also features the gralla (Catalan traditional instrument), guitar, and live vocals.
He is soon to launch his new artistic project, Casu with a C, an alter ego under which he will release his first album of original music — written, produced, and performed by himself — set to debut starting in September 2025.
