FAQs
Still have questions?
Can I take the entrance exam if I come from a non-artistic baccalaureate?
Yes, absolutely. You can sit the entrance exam regardless of the baccalaureate stream you studied (Technological, Scientific, Social, Humanistic or Artistic) or if you come from another Higher Vocational Training cycle (CFGS). The exam is designed to assess your potential, aptitudes and interest in music production and sound, not the field you come from.
When are the dates and calls for the exams published?
Calls are usually opened in early spring.
- 1st Call: is usually held between May and June (recommended to secure a place).
- 2nd Call: takes place in July or early September, subject to availability of vacant places.
It is recommended to book the exam in advance by contacting the admissions department, as groups are small.
Do I need an advanced level in an instrument to access the Degree?
For the specialities of Sonology and Composition it is not essential to be an advanced instrumentalist nor to hold a conservatory diploma. Basic musical knowledge, musical ear, artistic sensitivity and, above all, interest and curiosity for technology and sound creation are valued. If you want to study the Interpretation speciality you do need to have a sufficient level to pass the exam.
Do I have to take the exam if I already have the Professional Music Degree?
Yes, you still need to take the exam although in this case an abbreviated test is carried out for part A and you move on to do part B (specific to your specialisation).
