The world of DJs has evolved alongside the technological changes in the music industry. A key piece in this universe is the DJ controller, an electronic device designed to mix music using specialised software. Each model offers unique features that expand creative possibilities, allowing DJs to experiment and create unique mixes, especially in the world of electronic music.
If you are thinking of taking a DJ course, it is essential to know the latest trends in controllers for 2025. Below, we offer our top recommendations for beginners and professionals.
DJ controllers for beginners: 2025 trends
For those of you starting out in the DJ world, we highlight our favourite models with the best value for money that we know will be a safe bet for 2025:
- AlphaTheta (formerly Pioneer DJ) DDJ-FLX4
- Numark Mixtrack Platinum FX
- Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S2 MK3
These options provide everything needed to get started in the world of DJ sets, ideal for beginners who want to learn without losing key functions. Although there are cheaper models, many of them lack essential controls for your sets or even a headphone output, limiting the experience and possibilities when mixing.
The best DJ controllers for professionals in 2025
If you already have experience as a DJ or are looking for high-performance gear, these highlighted options for 2025 offer advanced features and professional quality:
- Rane DJ One
- AlphaTheta (formerly Pioneer DJ) XDJ RR
- Denon DJ SC Live 4
Although there are more advanced models, such as the AlphaTheta DDJ-REV7 or the Rane DJ Performer, any of the previously mentioned options is an excellent choice for working at the highest level. It is very important to consider factors such as price, features, size and weight, since some models, despite being very powerful, can be impractical to transport due to their robustness.
