With a career spanning more than three decades, Varela is not only a pioneer of techno in Spain, but an absolute master of technique who has taken the art of DJing to a higher level.

Talking about Cristian Varela is talking about the history of electronic music. With over 30 years of career, the Madrid-born artist has constantly evolved, becoming a vital mentor for new generations.

Beyond the stages, where he is world-renowned for his iconic 6-deck sets, Varela has left a deep mark on the industry:

• Innovator: Founder of Black Codes
• Experiments (2003), one of the most respected techno labels internationally.
• Prolific producer: He has released on landmark labels such as Toolroom, Primate, Intec and his own experimental label, Manita.
• Global: His radio show on Bloop London Radio is broadcast in over 50 countries.
• Collaborator: He has shared booths and projects with giants like Carl Cox, Chris Liebing and Joseph Capriati.

His passion for “the true craft of mixing” makes him one of the best possible teachers for anyone who wants to understand what it really means to be a DJ.
