We continue the series dedicated to producers’ and music industry professionals’ favourite plugins. On this occasion, from EUMES we share the selection of Julio Navas, founder of Fresco Records and Mentes Inquietas, who reveals five key tools within his workflow.

This is his selection of must-have plugins for music production.

1. NI Monark

Monark is a monophonic synth based on analog modelling, powerful, efficient and easy to manipulate.

It’s a very versatile tool for creating characterful basses and leads, and it often appears in many productions thanks to its punchy, direct sound.

2. AOM Invisible Limiter

The Japanese developers at AOM Plug-ins have long stood out for the quality of their products. The Invisible Limiter, a brickwall limiter, is considered one of their most solid pieces.

It is commonly used in mastering processes, as it offers robust but very transparent behavior, and it is easy to configure.

3. PreSonus Arpeggiator

The most recent version of Studio One includes this arpeggiator, capable of generating MIDI events in a very visual, intuitive and practical way.

It is an almost essential tool, both as a creative resource and as a complement or arrangement within a project, and it often acts as an inspirational element as well.

4. DMG Audio – Compassion

Compassion is an extremely flexible and intuitive dynamics processor.

It allows very detailed control of compression and is commonly used on individual tracks, on groups and even on the master bus, thanks to its versatility.

5. NI Molekular

Molekular is a modular effects system for Reaktor, which allows you to create virtually unlimited routings.

Thanks to the multiple metamorphoses that can be programmed, you often obtain results that are completely different from the input signal, but highly inspiring. An ideal tool for exploring textures and experimental effects.

If you want to discover and learn to use professional plugins like those used by active producers, the Diploma in Advanced Music and Sound at EUMES works with real tools, professional workflows and a creative approach, applied to current music production.
