We continue the series dedicated to favourite plugins of professionals linked to EUMES. After the selection by Julio Navas, a new blog entry arrives courtesy of Josep Corominas, EUMES’ head of admissions and music producer under the name One D.
From EUMES we share his selection of five essential plugins within his production workflow.
1. ValhallaFreqEcho – Valhalla DSP
ValhallaFreqEcho is a true creative sound destructor, capable of providing a wide variety of textures to any track it is applied to.
It’s a free plugin, very versatile and ideal for experimenting with delays, modulations and effects that completely transform the original sound.
2. bx_digital V2 – Brainworx
This plugin is an essential tool for working on mixes with professional criteria. Its great strength is the ability to treat the stereo field and mono independently and very precisely.
It allows you to surgically polish the stereo image, becoming a key ally in both mixing and pre‑mastering.
3. WOW – Sugar Bytes
WOW is a plugin designed to “dirty” the sound in a controlled way. It adds harmonics and character, enriching tracks and giving personality to synthesizers, basses or rhythmic elements.
A very interesting tool to move away from a clean sound and explore more organic or aggressive textures.
4. NI Massive
Massive remains one of the big references in bass synthesis. One D uses it by combining three or four layers with different low‑frequency ranges to build his own “super bass”.
It’s a very powerful tool for designing solid, punchy and present basses.
5. FabFilter Pro-Q 2
Pro‑Q 2 is an intuitive and very easy‑to‑use equaliser, ideal both to clean unnecessary frequencies and to boost those you want to emphasise.
Its clean, precise cut, together with the ability to know the exact pitch of the frequency being modified, make it one of the basic plugins in current music production.
If you want to learn to use professional plugins, design sounds with criteria and work on mixing in a creative and technical way at the same time, the Diploma in Advanced Music and Sound at EUMES works with real tools and professional workflows, applied to current music production.
