Discover the process of creating a song from scratch with one of the most authentic and versatile voices of the local scene

In this new edition of EUMES Meets, we are pleased to welcome Paula Grande, an artist who defines the concept of cultural mixing and musical bravery. With an international career that has led her to fuse jazz, hip hop and popular music, Paula opens the doors to her creative universe to show us how an abstract idea becomes a musical piece with soul.

The speaker: Paula Grande

Talking about Paula Grande is talking about a self-taught and free artist. Her style, marked by the fusion of jazz, hip hop and Latin music, has taken her to stages across the world (Colombia, Cuba, France, Spain) and to collaborate with figures such as Clara Peya, Anna Ferrer and Las Karamba.

With four records behind her, from the debut “Viatge Interestel·lar” to the powerful and assertive “D.O.’s (Denominación de Orígenes)”, Paula has shown a unique ability to connect with her roots (the Venezuelan cuatro, the Girona tradition) and transform them into contemporary sounds.

In addition to her solo career, she is a key figure in community and educational projects, leading choirs and improvisation workshops, which makes her an exceptional communicator capable of conveying music as a tool for real transformation.

What is this masterclass about?

Creating a song is much more than putting notes and words together; it is a process of construction, architecture and emotion. In this session, Paula Grande will share her “no‑filters” working method, from the first inspiration until the song takes on a life of its own.

Through her experience, we will analyse how harmony, rhythm and lyrics intertwine to shape a powerful message. It is a unique opportunity to understand the most human and technical side of composition, whether you write songs yourself or produce work for other artists.

During the masterclass, Paula will go deeper into:

  • The birth of the idea: how to identify and capture the initial spark.
  • The structure of the lyrics: narrative, metre and content.
  • Harmony, rhythm and melody: how to find a chord progression and a melody that make sense.

Who is it aimed at?

This masterclass is for you if:

  • You are a composer or singer‑songwriter and want to unlock new tools for your creative process.
  • You are a music producer and want to learn how to support an artist from the roots of their work.
  • You study music and are interested in the fusion of styles and music with social and folk consciousness.
  • You want to learn up close how an independent artist with an international profile works.

What will you learn in this masterclass?

In this session we will explore the pillars of musical creation from a practical and emotional perspective:

  • Creative methodology: different paths to composing a song.
  • Artistic coherence: how to align your identity and your roots with your music.
  • Initial production tools: how to prepare a demo or idea so the producer can get the most potential out of it.
  • Managing inspiration: how to start when faced with a blank page.
