In this new edition of EUMES Meets, we are pleased to welcome Paula Grande, an artist who defines the concept of cultural mixing and musical bravery. With an international career that has led her to fuse jazz, hip hop and popular music, Paula opens the doors to her creative universe to show us how an abstract idea becomes a musical piece with soul.
Talking about Paula Grande is talking about a self-taught and free artist. Her style, marked by the fusion of jazz, hip hop and Latin music, has taken her to stages across the world (Colombia, Cuba, France, Spain) and to collaborate with figures such as Clara Peya, Anna Ferrer and Las Karamba.
With four records behind her, from the debut “Viatge Interestel·lar” to the powerful and assertive “D.O.’s (Denominación de Orígenes)”, Paula has shown a unique ability to connect with her roots (the Venezuelan cuatro, the Girona tradition) and transform them into contemporary sounds.
In addition to her solo career, she is a key figure in community and educational projects, leading choirs and improvisation workshops, which makes her an exceptional communicator capable of conveying music as a tool for real transformation.
Creating a song is much more than putting notes and words together; it is a process of construction, architecture and emotion. In this session, Paula Grande will share her “no‑filters” working method, from the first inspiration until the song takes on a life of its own.
Through her experience, we will analyse how harmony, rhythm and lyrics intertwine to shape a powerful message. It is a unique opportunity to understand the most human and technical side of composition, whether you write songs yourself or produce work for other artists.
During the masterclass, Paula will go deeper into:
