Javier Blánquez is a journalist, music critic and writer specializing in contemporary culture and electronic music. Throughout his career he has collaborated with media such as La Luna , El País , Mondo Sonoro or Rockdelux , where he has signed hundreds of articles, interviews and analyses that have contributed to explaining and contextualizing the evolution of music made with machines. He currently also works at the publishing house Alpha Decay, which publishes narrative and essay books on popular culture.

He is the editor and author of several chapters of the book Loops: A History of Electronic Music (Reservoir Books, 2012), a landmark work that traces the origins and development of electronic sounds throughout the 20th century. Considered one of the most comprehensive essays on the subject, Loops has become essential reading for both scholars and music lovers.
